Supplier Diversity Initiative at JFK

I have not seen anything like this in Europe YET(?)! What a great initiative by The Port Authority of New York / New Jersey posted at JFK. They are encouraging MWBE’s (Minority and/or Women-owned Business Enterprises) to become certified vendors with the Port Authority of New York / New Jersey.

Port Authority of New York / New Jersey have an online directory of over 8,500 Port Authority-certified minority, women-owned, small, and disadvantaged business enterprises (MWSDBEs) by construction trades, architectural, and engineering specialties, and goods and services as well as consulting services.

Port Authority issued contracts have goals of 20% MBE and 10% WBE participation as well as 3% SDVOB (Service-disabled Veteran-owned) commensurate on availability of firms. As a certified MWBE and SDVOB, payments received by your firm on Port Authority issued contracts will apply toward the MWBE and SDVOB utilization goals.

The supplier diversity program offers MWSDBE and SDVOB contracting opportunities, capacity-building incentives, and support services, including a Mentor-Protégé Program, networking events, and business development sessions.
