Highlights of East Meets West Conference & Pride @Vienna

CONGRATULATIONS to Ludo & Pavel for a super successful 9th East meets West conference with more speakers, more topics, more emotions and more diversity than before.

I am very proud to have been able to present the topic of D&I in the supply chain as part of the panel discussion “Companies go beyond borders”.

I want to thank our great moderator, Tina Ličková who made sure that we could all highlight the points that were important to us, as well as my fellow discussants who shared their valuable insights and experiences with us.
– Dominic Arnall, CEO at Open for Business, United Kingdom
– Pawel Dygas, Member of the Board, UNIQA Polska, Poland
– Stuart Bruce Cameron, founder and CEO of UHLALA Group, Germany.

One of the highlights for me was Eleonóra (Nora) Barcziová’s emotional presentation, which had tears welling up not only in her eyes, but also in mine and many others in the audience. (picture below)

I would also like to thank the Swiss Embassy for their support, their contribution to the conference and their engagement at Pride, where they helped lead a whole group of embassy representatives from about 15 different countries under the name Diplomats for Equality.

When I got home, I unfortunately had to read the sad news that a terrorist attack on the parade was planned before the event, but fortunately was stopped in time. This shows once again how important it is to go out on the streets for diversity, inclusion and equality.
