ELEVATE Program by BAYER and WEConnect International
In September, BAYER invited to the closing event of their ELEVATE program. ELEVATE stands for a training and mentoring program sponsored by BAYER in collaboration with WEConnect International for women-owned businesses from Germany and Switzerland.
It started earlier this year with three live training sessions on the Pharmaceutical and Crop Science Industry, ESG Strategies and Building A Value Proposition for the business, followed by a mentoring by Bayer leadership.
After 4 months of mentoring, BAYER hosted a closing event at their headquarters in Leverkusen showcasing and celebrating the mentoring time. This event showed how much time and dedication everyone has invested, but also what impact such a program can have on both the women business owners but also the BAYER mentors.
I was overwhelmed and had goosebumps throughout the afternoon, listening to the great stories and outcomes. One could feel the relationships that have developed and how much gratitude and trust has been created on both sides. A big thank you to WEConnect International & BAYER for allowing me to be part of ELEVATE as project coordinator. I have rarely seen such a commitment of a company and their employees for a mentoring program.
It was great working with you all; Fernanda, Jerome, Laura, Tarunima, Bonnie, Gary, – Laura, we missed you at the event! Your involvement in ELEVATE also helped to make the difference.
With the closing event and the showcase of ELEVATE at the Europe Supplier Diversity Conference in Paris on Sept 23-25, 2024, I’m really sad ELEVATE has come to an end. It’s great to see though that lots of connections have been made and the conversations will continue. I’m sure that ELEVATE will come back at BAYER in some way and also inspire other corporates to start a mentoring program.
